William R Klich appointed to AABD Board of Advisors

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF BANK DIRECTORS

ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF WILLIAM R. KLICH TO BOARD OF ADVISORS

The American Association of Bank Directors (“AABD”) announced today that it has named William R. Klich to its Board of Advisors.

Mr. Klich has had a long and distinguished career in commercial banking.  Most recently, he served as State President – Florida for BB&T, and was a member of the Branch Banking & Trust Company of North Carolina Board of Directors.

Prior to that position, Mr. Klich served as President and CEO of Republic Bancshares and Republic Bank.  Republic Bank was a $2.8 billion state chartered bank serving 17 counties throughout the state of Florida with 72 full service branches.  Republic Bank was acquired by BB&T in April 2004.  He also served as CEO and director of a $1 billion asset community bank and holding company in Florida.

“Bill brings to AABD a wealth of practical experience and expertise in commercial banking and risk management at both large and community banks,” Charles Thayer, Chairman of AABD, said.  “As one of the finest bank CEOs in the U.S., he will provide AABD members with invaluable support for the challenges they face.”
